Tehran and Seoul, Korea sign Gas deal

Iran and a South Korean company have recently signed a $750-million contract for carrying out a project in giant South Pars gas field. The shale gas boom in the United States has been something of a mixed blessing for independent oil and gas companies. A drilling contract has been executed to drill a well on the Amazon Prospect from mid-December, with Australian companies Tango Petroleum Quest Petroleum and Transerv Energy all having an interest.
