Suez Canal continues operations despite protests

Egyptian officials have stated that the Suez Canal is operating normally despite continued protests in the area, reports Reuters. On Saturday around 1,000 people blocked the main road from the city of Suez to the canal and nearby Tawfik port in protest.

Selecting the right satellite-positioning system for offshore applications is vital, which is why the International Marine Contractors Association (IMCA) has published new guidance on the topic. According to the IMCA, system selection has often been treated as a low priority, particularly regarding dynamic positioning (DP), and the use of inappropriate systems has led to delays in project execution, vessel downtime and, in some circumstances, damage to assets.
