Ships Fight against Piracy

An independent report has recommended that the Dutch government provide ship-owners with better protection against piracy, including overseeing the hiring of security guards. Tanzania’s President Jakaya Kikwete has told the UN General Assembly in New York that the maritime piracy problem is spreading fast and that more help was needed to deal with the problem. Maritime piracy is a concern and with more and more governments agreeing to the useage of arms and ammunition on board is good news for the seafarers and maritime trade as a whole.
