Riots in Egypt close Mærsk operations

A.P. Møller-Mærsk has temporarily shut down most of its operations in Egypt. The Egyptian government has closed down most of the communication traffic and the food supply chain is not operating as usual due to the riots in the North African country.  More than 12 million passengers travelled via Port of Stockholm’s three ports in Stockholm, Kapellskär and Nynäshamn in 2010 – a new record. On January 31, 2011, the keel was laid for an Antarctic research and supply vessel ordered by the South African Department of Environmental Affairs at STX Finland Rauma shipyard.
