Panel votes to block new BP offshore leases
A US House subcommittee voted yesterday to bar BP from new US offshore leases to drill for oil or natural gas because of past safety violations.
After the Deepwater Horizon rig exploded and its well began spewing millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, the Obama administration took the logical step.
