New containerships for 2011

Deliveries of new containerships have surpassed the one-million-TEU mark since the beginning of 2011, with 154 vessels delivered and 280,000 TEUs more to come by the end of the year, according to Alphaliner.

The crew of the Royal Australian Navy patrol boat HMAS ‘Broome’ prevented a potential environmental and maritime disaster off Papua New Guinea yesterday by providing assistance to a commercial container ship, which had lost power and was drifting towards Ragelapra Reef.
