BP Weighs North Sea Asset Sales

BP PLC is sounding out other energy companies about selling off North Sea assets valued at $1 billion, as it seeks funds to pay for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Canada’s oil and gas industry is urging the international community not to reach a deal that would punish their member companies and the Canadian economy. Australian oil and gas fields in the Indian Ocean face a high risk of being battered by cyclones over the next two weeks if current weather patterns continue.
