BG India Suspends Oil & Gas Production.

BG India, a unit of the BG Group PLC suspended production of oil and gas at the Panna-Mukta fields off India’s west coast on July 20 after a leak was detected in an undersea pipeline, a company spokeswoman said Tuesday.

The new head of the U.S. Interior Department’s offshore-drilling oversight agency vowed to make “aggressive investigations of oil and gas companies” a “hallmark” of the agency going forward.

Independent oil and gas producer Anadarko Petroleum Corp., BP PLC’s biggest partner on the ruptured Macondo field oil well, reported late Tuesday that higher output, stronger energy prices and fewer derivative losses contributed to a narrower second-quarter loss which actually is good news for oil and gas industry.
