Suezmax Tanker completes Northern sea route in a week

Suezmax tanker ‘Vladimir Tikhonov’ passed Cape Dezhnev on August 30 to complete her transit along the Northern Sea Route (NSR), the high-latitude route from Europe to Asia through the Arctic, in a record time of less than 7.5 days.

STX Finland and Eide Marine Semi, a subsidiary of Eide Marine Services, have signed a contract for the outfitting, completion and delivery of two well intervention vessels with an aggregate contract value exceeding €300 million (US$415 million).

Fairmount’s FPSO

Fairmount Marine’s tugs ‘Fairmount Sherpa’ and ‘Fairmount Summit’ have delivered the floating production storage and offloading unit FPSO ‘Skarv Idun’ to its final position in the northern Norwegian Sea, having already towed the unit from South Korea earlier this year.

Malaysia-based shipbuilder Nam Cheong has landed a US$13.9 million contract with with offshore marine company Omni Marissa for an anchor handling tug/supply vessel, reports the Malaysia Star.

Yuexin delivers Anchor Handling Tug

Yuexin Shipbuilding Company on August 16 delivered the anchor handling tug/supply vessel ‘Redfish 3’ to its owner Otto Offshore of Malaysia.

Netherlands-based Transport & Offshore Services has announced the delivery of five tugs for Svitzer. The tugs are newbuilds from Qingdao in china and all are bound for Africa.
