Hyundai wins LNG carrier order
Hyundai Heavy Industries has won an US$400 million order to build two liquefied natural gas carriers for Singapore-based BW Maritime, in a contract that also includes an option to build two more ships.
India’s liquefied natural gas import capacity will jump more than three-fold by the middle of the decade and will more than quadruple by the end of the decade.
Russia to invest in Shipbuilding
State support of the Russian shipbuilding industry during the period of 2012-14 may total about 140 billion rubles (US$4.35 billion), the Ministry of Economic Development said.
General Dynamics has entered an agreement to acquire Metro Machine, a surface-ship repair company that supports the US Navy fleet in Norfolk, Virginia, for an undisclosed sum.
