China taps into Argentina’s oil prospects

China’s largest oil producer had looked overseas 14 years ago for places to invest, it then settled on the then-untapped riches of Sudan.

Mubadala Oil and Gas and the Yemen Company for Investments in Oil and Mineral have signed an agreement to co-operate on oil and gas exploration and production in Yemen.

Oil and gas explorations working Libya have made three new discoveries recently. One field contains oil and the other two fields contain both oil and gas.

Hongkong collision leaves 2 dead and injures 6

Two vessels collided east of Tung Lung Chau in Hong Kong on November 7, causing two deaths and six injuries, according to the Hong Kong Police. At about 3:15am, police received a report that a sand barge with 14 crew on board collided with a container vessel with nine crew.

Container volumes at Sri Lanka’s Colombo port reached record volumes during November, reported local media. Containers handled at the port hit a record of two million during November 2010, up 26.5 percent from the same period last year, as container volumes reached a new high of four million TEU.

The Uruguayan government plans to speed up deepwater port construction in La Paloma. Neighbouring countries Brazil and Paraguay have been contacted to join a multilateral authority to speed up works, which will require a US$1.0 billion investment, according to local media reports.
