Mitsui OSK Lines and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to develop a hybrid power supply system

Using solar power generation technology and lithium ion batteries MOL will construct a hybrid car carrier that will use natural energy and generate electricity to be stored in the batteries which will then supply power to the vessel when it is at berth. This is slated to be launched in 2012.
